It’s been one year since the Red Sox were knocked out of the playoffs by the Baltimore Orioles. In the course of the world, that might not be a very long time. On the other hand, looking back at what’s happened to the Sox and O’s since then, it might as well have been forever ago.
This time, the roles are reversed with Baltimore fighting for a playoff spot and Boston heading for a losing season. But the two teams return to the scene of the crime for a three-game set where the Sox could salvage a little something in a season that has seen so much disappointment.
