Tough decisions have to be made every year to get an NFL team down to its final, 53-man roster. Bill Belichick is among the most cutthroat when it comes to putting aside personal relationships to make the best choices for fielding a winning football team.
In that vein, 22 players were cut by the Patriots on Friday, including established names such as Deion Branch, as the team looks a week ahead to the Tennessee Titans. The remaining players in the locker room were admittedly sad to see some of their friends and teammates walk out the door, but they also realize that the NFL is a business, and saying goodbye is a necessary evil.
