Prince William Loses Penalty Shootout Against 13-Year-Old in Solomon Islands (Video)

One soccer field on the Solomon Islands was as cruel to Prince William as other fields in far-off lands have been to England's national soccer team.

Following in the footsteps of the Three Lions, William lost in a penalty shootout against a 13-year-old on Monday, the Guardian reports.

Prince William is touring the South Pacific and visited the Solomon Islands on one of his stops. He was on hand to observe children participating in the "Go Play Initiative," an organization which uses soccer to help educate and empower young people.

The suit-clad royal was invited to take a few shots on a local goalkeeper in front of hundreds of onlookers, and he accepted the challenge. Prince William, who is also president of England's Football Association (FA), missed two out of three spot-kicks against young Philemon Fatai, prompting his teenage opponent to say "he [William] is good — but not as good as me."

Fatai and his friends presumably played the semifinal and final rounds, while William dealt with quarterfinal heartbreak.
