Last week, Bruins winger Brad Marchand scored a big payday when it was announced that he and the B's agreed on an extension.
Will Tyler Seguin sign his name on a dotted line this week? The B's leading scorer from a year ago sure hopes so.
"I want to stay [in Boston] and start a life here," Seguin told WEEI.com's DJ Bean before the Bruins' annual golf tournament at The International Golf Club on Monday. "That's what I'm looking for.
"There's been discussions," Seguin added, when asked about a new contract. "It's looking good, and I'm looking forward to hopefully playing in Boston for many years."
Seguin explained that negotiations have "definitely picked up quite heavily" since the end of the season and that negotiations have been "all positive."
As for the upcoming NHL season, Seguin won't confirm any plans if there's a lockout.
"I'm headed to New York for two days to see what's going on and then talk to my agent a bit more," he said. "Obviously, I want to be playing hockey, NHL first, and then I've thought about AHL, thought about going overseas, but nothing I can confirm on right now."
