Andrew Bynum has yet to practice with his new team, and is unlikely to suit up for Philadelphia's home opener on Oct. 31.
Bynum has sat out all preseason with a right knee injury that has been ailing him since an he suffered a bone bruise during an offseason workout.
Bynum was supposed to resume activity on Wednesday, but the Sixers are being cautious with their prized addition. Bynum was acquired by Philadelphia in August as part of the deal that sent Dwight Howard to the Lakers. The 76ers sent Andre Iguodala to the Nuggets as part of the four-team deal.
The 24-year-old Bynum is coming off a rare healthy season that brought him his first All-Star appearance, where he was the starting Western Conference center. Bynum averaged 18.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. The former Laker also played a career high 35.2 minutes per game.
