The 2012 Red Sox season has come to a close. One hundred and sixty-two games later, here we are.

It's a far cry from the way that last season ended, in a fit of emotion and heartbreak, but it is an ending nevertheless, after a long season full of twists and turns.

NESN Nation's Dan Duquette asked our Twitter followers what they thought the defining moment of this year was. See what they had to say in the above video and leave your choice in the comments below.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
