Jeff Green Tells Brian Scalabrine to Ask James Worthy’s Permission Before Comparing Him to Lakers Great (Video)

Jeff Green is flattered by the
comparison to James Worthy. He truly is. So flattered, in fact, that Green is
not sure he deserves the honor.

Celtics broadcasters Mike Gorman and
Brian Scalabrine raised Worthy's name in connection with Green's last week, and
Green said Tuesday that he is hesitant to accept a comparison to the
seven-time All-Star known as "Big Game James."

"You have to ask the great
James Worthy if I am able to have that nickname," Green said. "That's
one of the top 50 players to ever play this game, and for me to be called that
is an honor, but you have to ask his permission."

Green requested a social media
campaign to secure Worthy's permission, so maybe this is all just a ploy by
Green to get more Twitter followers. That would be shameless and beneath him.
Really, Jeff, you're better than that — but I'm not. Follow me @BenjeeBallgame and don't
give into temptation to follow @unclejeffgreen.
