Jerry Sandusky Will Speak at Sentencing, According to Lawyer Joe AmendolaBELLEFONTE, Pa. — Jerry Sandusky‘s lawyer says “it’s as certain as certain can be” that the former Penn State assistant football coach will assert his innocence when he’s sentenced on 45 counts of child sexual abuse.

Defense attorney Joe Amendola said Monday that nobody else is expected to speak on Sandusky’s behalf during the sentencing hearing Tuesday in Bellefonte, Pa.

Amendola and lawyers with the state attorney general’s office are meeting behind closed doors with Judge John Cleland to discuss logistics for the hearing. Prosecutors say they’ll comment afterward.

The 68-year-old Sandusky faces the likelihood he’ll spend the rest of his life in state prison, given his age and the number of serious charges he faces.

Amendola says Sandusky’s wife, Dottie, will be at the hearing.
