It might seem cliche, but it’s also true. There’s no substitute for hard work.
John Farrell understands that, and he spoke on Tuesday of how the Red Sox will operate under that philosophy with him as manager. The new skipper said that the year-round playoff atmosphere in Boston will push the players next season, and he intends to take an aggressive approach in his managerial decisions.
Farrell also noted that his time as manager of the Blue Jays was very beneficial because he now knows what it’s like to lead an entire team of 25 men rather than just a pitching staff.
The confidence of the new head man is already obvious, so check out the video to hear more from Farrell and general manager Ben Cherington.
