The Red Sox received a lot of scrutiny during last season's managerial search. Some of the criticism stemmed from the team's decision to hire Bobby Valentine, but the drawn out process was what had others questioning the team's decision making.
This time around, the Sox got their man in John Farrell. And not only did they get who they believe is the right guy for the job, but they also took care of business in a quick manner, which will allow the club to now turn its attention to other matters.
This is a very important offseason for the Red Sox, and team president and CEO Larry Lucchino thinks locking up Farrell means the club has "hit the ground running." Farrell echoed such sentiments during his introductory news conference on Tuesday.
