Police in Barranquilla, Colombia discovered 24 lbs of marijuana hidden in a poster frame displaying an image of Lionel Messi last Tuesday.
A 30-year old man was arrested when police found 15 pot packets inside a wood frame that was almost 3 inches wide and more than 3 feet long during a search of the bus he was traveling on, according to Colombia's Elheraldo.com.
Local police said they believed the man had used a similar ploy several times in the past.
"He would fool the agents with this ruse as nobody imaged that in back of the poster would be a drug stash," a police representative said.
Police went on to say that the other passengers of the bus were shocked at the discovery of the contraband behind the image of the famous Argentine soccer player.
According to the story, one of the passengers jokingly said, "Man. No wonder [Messi] flies so much when he plays!"
