The old saying is that a win is a win. But although they all count the same, the Patriots’ overtime victory over the Jets on Sunday can hardly be described as impressive.
CBS Sports NFL analyst and former quarterback Boomer Esiason broke down Sunday’s AFC East clash on WEEI’s Dennis and Callahan on Monday, and he’s among those concerned about the Patriots’ defense. While the unit eventually did enough to emerge victorious on Sunday, Esiason pointed to Mark Sanchez‘s solid numbers as proof that there is still plenty of work to be done.
“To allow a guy like Mark Sanchez, who has really struggled since Week 1 throwing the football, to walk in there and throw for as many passes as he’s thrown and then complete as many as he did and throw for as many yards as he did, just goes to show you just how bad the Patriots pass defense really is,” Esiason said.
