Expect Martell Webster to now check his pockets twice before going anywhere.

Webster, who is gearing up for his first season with the Wizards, forgot his car keys in Kansas City, Mo., before flying home, which forced the seven-year veteran to sleep in his car upon landing, according to The Washington Post.

Webster reportedly was able to get into his car thanks to an app on his phone, but the lack of actual keys proved to be a problem because he couldn't start the vehicle. The 25-year-old wasn't too concerned, though, as he turned the problem into an opportunity to catch some Z's.

"Good thing I have a wife that loves me. She came and got me," Webster reportedly said. "I slept in my car for two hours, I'm not going to lie. I called my wife I was like, 'You know what it is 3:30. I'll let you sleep a couple more hours but you need to come get me.' And she got me. We're good.'"

The key crisis would have had disaster written all over it had Webster not been able to get into his car, especially given the unpredictable weather going on nowadays, but modern technology once again won out. And while the whole situation is a rather strange occurrence for a professional athlete who has made over $20 million throughout the course of his career, it's hardly something to split hairs about.

"As long as I had shelter I was good," Webster said. "By the time I had figured out my keys were in Kansas City everybody was gone. I didn't want to call anybody, I didn't mind. I'm from the Northwest, we do weird stuff like sleep in our cars -– not a problem. If you haven't slept in your car then you're weird."

Well, you do have to lie in the bed you've made — even if that "bed" has four wheels.
