Matt Elam Delivers Big Hit on Celebrating Florida Teammate Luchiez Purifoy After Special Teams Play (Video)

Florida safety Matt Elam loves delivering big hits, so what better way to celebrates a teammate's key special teams play than to lay him out.

Gators cornerback Luchiez Purifoy stopped to pose after making a great play on special teams when he tackled LSU's Odell Beckham for no gain on a punt return. Then suddenly, Purifoy was on the ground. Elam ran up behind Purifoy and layed the lumber, drilling him to congratulate him on his big play.

It was an interesting celebration by Elam, but it will make his teammates think twice the next time they choose to preen while down in a game, or at least not to turn their back on the star safety.

Elam is just a junior, but if he declares for the 2013 NFL draft, he could be one of the first safeties taken. If he keeps delivering big hits like he did on Saturday, there's no doubt. But he better start turning his attention to the opposition.
