As Hurricane Sandy rages in the Northeast, even the NESN studios are not immune from its wrath.

At some point Monday, a wind-induced leak in the air-conditioning unit caused water to rain down on the NESN Daily studio, causing some damage and forcing the shutoff of the unit. NESN Daily is still scheduled to go on at its normal hour of 10 p.m., but it may be broadcast from the NESN Newsroom or another meeting area inside the NESN offices.

Additionally, as an example of just how powerful the hurricane-force winds are, the picture below depicts the damage to the a/c unit from the winds alone.

We will continue to pass along any updates regarding NESN Daily as they become available.

Update, 7:05 p.m. ET: The hole in the roof has been temporarily fixed, and as such NESN Daily will be broadcast from its normal location of Studio B inside the NESN offices.

Update, 9:30 p.m.: At 4 p.m. today, the cover was blown off the building's main a/c unit and ended up landing on another part of the roof behind the antenna. This allowed water to leak into the building, and in the meantime a temporary shield made from tarps was constructed to stop the water damage. The leaking has stopped, but the unit is running at just 65 percent, and the cover will have to be re-made from scratch once the storm passes.
