The NHL and players association continue to meet but have made no progress in ending the lockout. In fact, the two sides are still a long way from settling on a new deal and are instead opting to take shots at each other through the media instead of actually trying to get something done.
With each day that passes, the idea of a lost season becomes more and more realistic, even if it is only October. Ian Mendes of Rogers Sportsnet East joined NESN Daily on Wednesday night, and he cautioned that if some sort of economic progress isn't made soon, the league could be looking at yet another lost season.
