This time last year, Nick Punto was helping the Cardinals win the National League Championship Series en route to their World Series victory. One year later, he's back at the NLCS –– but solely as a spectator.
Since the Dodgers failed to make the postseason, Punto decided to snag tickets to Game 6 at AT&T Park and cheer on his former St. Louis teammates.
After 13 seasons in the majors, Punto took his wife, Natalie, to their first baseball game together that he wasn't competing in.
On the flight to San Francisco, Punto showed his loyalty to the Cardinals by tweeting a photo of his World Series ring. The infielder received the ring while with the Red Sox back in May.
Considering the Dodgers and Giants are division rivals, Punto would certainly be thrilled if the Cardinals moved on to the World Series. Unfortunately for him, "The Shredder" will be barred from ripping any jerseys this time around.
