Rajon Rondo likes this year's Celtics. A lot.
Rondo, who won an NBA title with Boston in 2008, thinks that this year's squad is the best that Danny Ainge has assembled since the point guard was drafted in 2006.
"This is the best team we've had since I've been here, I think, as far as on paper, as far as the depth of talent," Rondo said, according to WEEI.com. "We've got to make something of it."
Rondo, of course, understands that games aren't won on paper, but his comments speak to the high expectations that the C's have going into this season. The Miami Heat continue to be considered the beasts of the Eastern Conference, but the Celtics are commonly pointed to as the team that could knock off the defending NBA champions. Rondo is a big reason for such high praise, as he continues to evolve into the Celtics' leader.
The C's are in the midst of a trip to Turkey and Italy, and Doc Rivers made it clear before departing that the trip is all about business first.
