The Patriots are abroad this week to take on the St. Louis Rams in London, and they reportedly will do so without the services of a starting tight end.

Aaron Hernandez did not make the trip to England, according to NFL Network’s Albert Breer, after the 22-year-old was noticed missing from the team’s Friday walkthrough. Safeties Patrick Chung and Steve Gregory were also absent from practice.

Hernandez was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, but did not practice at all on Thursday according to the team. The third-year tight end injured his ankle in a Week 2 loss to the Cardinals and missed the next three weeks.

However, he did play in the team’s overtime victory over the Jets, pulling in five catches for 54 yards.
