Trevor Gillies isn’t going to light the lamp much, but he sure knows how to throw his hands around.

Gillies showed once again why he’s considered one of hockey’s most feared enforcers with a TKO victory over Jon Mirasty. The two squared off just 2:28 into the opening period of their KHL game on Monday, and after each combatant sized the other up, Gillies went to work.

Gillies — whose NHL career consists of 57 games, just three points and 261 penalty minutes — delivered some big left hands, including one absolute bomb that sent Mirasty falling to the ice. The crowd was electric during the exciting rumble, and Gillies was clearly feeling the energy, gesturing to the fans upon scooping up the victory.

Mirasty, on the other hand, wasn’t as excited. Instead, he semed to have some trouble finding his way to the penalty box — an obvious side effect of repeated blows to the head.
