Brandon Lloyd Jumps Over Car in Commercial to Help Friend (Video)

Brandon Lloyd is the Patriots’ most athletic receiver. But even elite athletes like Lloyd should avoid playing in traffic, regardless of how small the cars may be.

Lloyd appeared in a commercial recently for MobiSquad, a company that provides a mobile payment device for small businesses, in which he meets some friends in a parking lot. When a car decides to interrupt their buddy-buddy moment, Lloyd decides that in lieu of moving out of the way, he would simply jump over the oncoming car.

The Patriots receiver admitted that there was some clever camera work involved, saying he would never do anything to jeopardize his career.

“I think that’s more [the message] than the danger involved,” said Lloyd, according to the Boston Herald. “Obviously, I’m not going to do anything to jeopardize my career … so we can say I jumped a car for small business.”

Lloyd is a friend of MobiSquad CEO Nate Reis who asked him to help out with the ad campaign.

“He thought it would be a good idea to see if we could do a partnership,” said Lloyd. “So we were just tossing around some ideas.”

How they landed on the Kobe Bryant-esque car-jumping idea is unclear. But there is no mistaking that Lloyd probably would have cleared the car if the ad had been real.
