The Boston Bruins Foundation has its philanthropic juices flowing again, this time partnering with Bayside Runner to help put on the first annual Winter Lights 5K to benefit the Cape Cod Toys for Tots.

The race will take place in Plymouth on Friday, Dec. 7, following the “Christmas in Historic Plymouth” tree lighting at 6:15. Runners will then follow Santa along the course, which begins on Main Street and goes along the waterfront in downtown Plymouth.

Registration is just $25, with all proceeds going to benefit Toys for Tots. To register, visit the Boston Bruins Foundation online and be sure to register early, as everyone who signs up prior to the race will receive T-shirts, blinking lights and glow sticks.

For those who want to sign up the night of the event, registration will be held at T-Bones Road House at 22 Main St. in Plymouth.

The Winter Lights 5K is part of the Bruins’ annual holiday assistance for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. The foundation will present Toys for Tots with a check at a post-race celebration at the CabbyShack (30 Town Wharf, Plymouth). Joining in the celebration will be members of the Bruins Foundation Running Team, comprised of about 40 runners who race in various charity events throughout the year.
