At around 70 percent on the season, Detroit Pistons center Greg Monroe is a pretty decent free throw shooter for a guy who’s 6-foot-10.
However, when he was poked in the eye by Spencer Hawes in a 94-76 win over the Philadelphia 76ers, Monroe was put at a significant disadvantage. You see, Monroe wears contact lenses on the court, and one was knocked loose by the contact.
So, Monroe stepped up to the free-throw line and made his first attempt, literally, with one eye closed. Then, after re-adjusting his visionary hardware, he missed his second attempt having regained proper vision.
