The young man they call “Johnny Football” is making things happen as an upset is brewing in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Johnny Manziel did more in one play against the Alabama defense than most players can achieve in an entire game. The Texas A&M quarterback received the shotgun snap, started to scramble forward, lost the ball, recovered it in mid-air, regrouped and threw a touchdown pass in the back of the endzone to wide receiver Ryan Swope.
Manziel, a redshirt freshman, has serious Heisman buzz going, and if the Aggies can pull off an upset against No. 1 Alabama, he could jump to the top of most watch lists. Manziel has 2,527 passing yards on the season with 16 touchdowns and six interceptions. He’s also ran for 922 yards with 15 rushing touchdowns.
