Kevin Garnett Tells Celtics to Play Like Pack of Hyenas, Lets New Players Know ‘What It Means to Be a C’ (Video)

BOSTON — Kevin Garnett ran with a pack of wolves for 12
years in Minnesota. Now he wants to run with a pack of hyenas.

Garnett implored his Celtics teammates to play like that intimidating
African carnivore after the Celtics dropped a 99-88 decision to the Bucks on
Friday. The flop embarrassed the Celtics, who were making their home debut for
the 2012-13 season and were booed on their own court.

"I was just letting all the new guys know what it means
to be a 'C' and reiterating that, knowing the severity of putting this jersey
on and everything that comes with it," Garnett said. "I won't go into
what that is. That's none of your business. But I felt like I had to reinnovate
that and [Friday] was the perfect night for that."

Those wild hyenas do not have much time to lick their
wounds, as they head to Washington, D.C., to play the Wizards on Saturday. That quick
turnaround, Garnett said, was the only good thing to come out of Friday's game.
