Minor League Goalies Square Off at Center Ice as Part of Massive Rumble (Video)

With the NHL still in a lockout, any on-ice scrap is a welcomed sight. But when a couple of goalies exchange pleasantries, it’s hard not to get even more excited.

SPHL goalies Ross MacKinnon and Kiefer Smiley went toe to toe recently and showed that even during a dark time for the NHL, there’s still plenty of intense hockey action out there for fans. It’s simply a matter of finding it.

The two netminders skated to center ice to kick off their rumble, which stemmed from a major brawl over in the corner. What ensued was a stiff jab followed by plenty of haymakers. As you’d expect, the fans were loving every minute of it.
