Here we go again. Just when it seemed like there was a real reason for optimism that an NHL season would be played, the skies have gone dark once more.
On Friday, the NHL and the NHLPA met for the fourth consecutive day of talks, and by all indications yet again came to a stalemate, with no new talks currently scheduled. In the previous days, it looked like the league and the players had made real progress on economic issues, but despite multiple meetings Friday, the league and owners apparently bristled at certain player demands regarding free agency and service time.
