The yin and yang of the Patriots’ season continues. While the team will be without Rob Gronkowski on Thursday, there’s good news surrounding New England’s other starting tight end.
Aaron Hernandez will return from his ailing right ankle injury in the Patriots’ Thanksgiving matchup against the Jets, according to Albert Breer from NFL.com. Hernandez first hurt his ankle in Week 2 against the Cardinals. He made a return in Week 6 — playing against the Seattle Seahawks — but suffered a setback which forced him out of the Patriots’ last three games.
Getting back Hernandez should be good news for New England. He will be able to take over what the Patriots lost in the passing game with Gronkowski out, though there’s still questions of how the team will compensate for the lack of Gronk’s blocking ability.
