The Patriots are already without Jermaine Cunningham for the next four games, and now they’ll likely be without Chandler Jones for a second game in a row as well.

Jones is likely to miss Sunday’s matchup against the Miami Dolphins according to Tom E. Curran of Comcast Sports Net. Jones injured his ankle against the Colts in Week 11 and missed last week’s game against the Jets as well.

Jones has been the best pass rusher on the Patriots as a rookie, and is one of the best — if not the best — defensive players on the roster. Jones was taken No. 21 overall in the 2012 NFL draft out of Syracuse. He has six sacks on the season.

With Cunningham out for four games after getting suspended for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy, Trevor Scott, Justin Francis and Jake Bequette will be next in line to get snaps at defensive end across from Rob Ninkovich.
