Report: David Beckham Moving to New York City, Not Planning on Retiring From SoccerChange is in the air for the well-traveled David Beckham and his family.

The L.A. Galaxy star is considering moving his family from Beverly Hills, Calif. to New York City so his wife Victoria Beckham can make her mark in the fashion world, according to the Mail.

“Talks have begun about the next step for the family and New York is one of the options being talked about seriously,” a source reportedly told the Mail.

“LA has given the family the outdoors lifestyle that they’ve loved for five years. But now the children are getting older and the couple both look to the future in their careers.”

The report adds that Victoria was seen house hunting and scouting schools (four their four children) during a recent trip to NYC. It also says Beckham, 38, has “no plans” to end his playing career at the moment.

He joined the Galaxy in 2007 and signed a two-year contract extension in January, citing his family’s comfort in Southern California as a motivating factor.

Should the Beckhams move to the Big Apple, the former England captain could conceivably play for the Galaxy in 2013. He also has enough clout at MLS HQ to engineer a trade to the New York Red Bulls if he wants to stay close to his family during the season.

For now, Beckham remains committed to the Galaxy as it looks to repeat as MLS Cup champion. What the future has in store for the famous family remains to be seen.
