Report: Frank Spaziani Fired as Boston College Head Coach

After a pitiful 2-10 season, the Boston College Eagles are making a change at head coach.

BC has fired Frank Spaziani, according to Pete Roussel of collegesearch.com. Spaziani took over in 2009 after former Eagles head coach Jeff Jagodzinski was fired for interviewing with the New York Jets. The Eagles went 22-29 during Spaziani’s time at the top, including an 8-5 season in his first year as head coach.

Spaziani was 0-2 in bowl games for BC, losing the Emerald Bowl to USC in 2009 and the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl to Nevada in 2010. Spaziani has served in some capacity with the Eagles since 1997. He started out as a running backs coach and became the defensive coordinator in 1999. He served that role until taking over as head coach in 2009. Prior to coaching at BC, Spaziani was a defensive coordinator in the CFL for five seasons.

The 65 year old head coach played linebacker and quarterback for Penn State from 1965-1968.
