The Bears won’t need to worry about another performance like Monday night’s against San Francisco, when Chicago was embarrassed 32-7 thanks to its stagnant offense and the 49ers’ sensational backup quarterback, Colin Kaepernick.
Jay Cutler has been cleared to start Sunday against the Vikings after passing all of his concussion tests, according to Jason LaCanfora of CBS. Cutler was injured during Chicago’s Week 10 matchup with the Texans when he received a helmet-to-helmet blow from Houston linebacker Tim Dobbins while scrambling.
The Bears couldn’t recover from the loss of Cutler and fell to the Texans 13-6. Backup quarterback Jason Campbell has gone 26-for-42 with 201 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions since replacing Cutler this season, while the Bears are 7-1 in games that Cutler has started and finished.
The Bears play the 6-4 Minnesota Vikings on Sunday in a game that could have serious implications in the NFC North. Green Bay is leading the division with a 7-3 record, but Chicago (7-3) and Minnesota are right behind the Packers.
