Terrence Jones has not gotten a ton of opportunities to display his skills for the Houston Rockets. Three games into the season, the rookie out of Kentucky had appeared in only three games for a total of 33 minutes and had scored 13 points.
But two of those 13 points came in dramatic fashion on Sunday.
With about 8:30 left in the second quarter of the Rockets’ game against the Lakers, Jones got the ball and dribbled up the court. When nobody on the Lakers stopped the ball, Jones just kept going. Los Angeles guard Jodie Meeks attempted to take a belated charge as Jones rose up near the hoop, but Meeks was too late. Jones hammered down a right-handed slam to posterize the unfortunate guard.
Meeks and the Lakers came out on top in the end with a 119-108 win, but Jones’ dunk will live on forever on the Internet.
