Torii Hunter may be headed to the Motor City.
According to Fox Sports’ Jon Morosi, Hunter has a “good chance” of signing with the Tigers on a multi-year deal. The caveat attached is that the Rangers may yet join the bidding on the right fielder, which may well appeal to Hunter as he resides in the area.
Morosi goes so far to say that the Tigers are “prepared” to make Hunter an offer, but it’s not certain whether or not it’s already been extended. Likewise, it’s unclear if the Tigers are the team that Hunter meant when he said on MLB Network that “I know who I want to play for.”

Torii Hunter is an ideal fit for the Tigers: .868 OPS vs. LHP this year, can play RF every day, mentor to younger players, wants a ring.

Sources say there’s a good chance Torii Hunter will sign with the Tigers unless his hometown Rangers make a push — which is very possible.
