Yankees’ Left Side of Infield Isn’t Necessarily Left-Wing

Abraham Lincoln once famously said “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” Do you think that applies to infields, too?

The Yankees’ Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez have become famous over the years,  first for their friendship, and then for their falling out. Perhaps it has something to do with their political beliefs.

In an interview with ESPN back in September, Jeter let it slip that he’d be voting for Barack Obama in Tuesday night’s presidential election. Meanwhile, CNSNews.com reported that Rodriguez had donated money to the Mitt Romney campaign a few weeks ago. Just a little context for next time a ball bounces in between third and short.

No word on the basis for either of their positions, as Jeter is notoriously a man of few words in interviews, while Rodriguez is similarly notorious for trying (and failing) to keep his private business to himself.
