Giancarlo Stanton is not happy with the Marlins. How much longer will he be playing for them?

After Miami unloaded about half of its roster — and almost all of its payroll — in a blockbuster deal with the Blue Jays, the 23-year-old outfielder let people know how upset he was. Stanton tweeted out, “Alright, I’m pissed off!!!” and many speculated that he would be the next big name taking his talents away from South Beach. So far, that hasn’t been the case.

Miami has pledged not to trade their star hitter, making him all but “untouchable” for the rest of 2013. Of course, anything the Marlins say at this point is going to be taken with a grain of salt less than 12 months after splurging for big-name free agents and then scrapping their plan midway through the season.

Stanton is bound to leave Miami sooner or later, so the question is not if, but when the Fish will pull the trigger on dealing their young star. If that decision comes this winter after all, teams will be lining up to make their best pitch for the outfielder.
