Alex Rodriguez might not be playing much in 2013, but some rumors about him aren’t ready to be put out to pasture just yet.
The Yankees third baseman hosted an art show at his Miami home during the city’s Art Basel celebration, and some visitors noticed that a couple of fabled paintings weren’t on display. We’re referring, of course, to the rumored artwork of A-Rod as a centaur that former girlfriend Torrie Wilson claimed he hung over his bed.
When asked about the paintings by the New York Daily News, however, A-Rod tried to put the rumor to rest.
“No, I do not have a painting of my upper body on a Minotaur,” he said. “I don’t know where they get that stuff.”
The supposed art, showing Rodriguez as a mythical creature, has been floating around the rumor mill since 2009, and former girlfriend Madonna neither confirmed nor denied the existence of any paintings when asked about it herself.
In any case, Rodriguez will be out for four to six months due to some upcoming hoof hip surgery.
