Arsene Wenger’s Puffy-Jacket Malfunction Causes Him to Lose His Cool, Then Play It Cool (Animation)

Arsene Wenger likes wearing a big, puffy jacket on the sidelines. It’s one of the Arsenal manager’s many endearing quirks.

While Wenger may cherish the iconic jacket, it might not feel the same way about him.

Wenger had a problem with the puffy jacket’s zipper on Saturday. It broke during the early stages of Arsenal’s 7-3 win over Newcastle, and cameras were fixed on the Gunners’ boss as he tried to zip that big, black, puffy jacket.

We’re not sure what happened to Wenger’s jacket but, judging from the short clip, it’s safe to say that the zipper train simply derailed. Wenger tried three or four different ways to fix it — all in quick succession — before settling on a temporary solution.

The best part about it was Wenger’s facial expression. You could see him going through the seven stages of grief  (shock, denial, anger, bargaining, guilt, depression and acceptance) during the ordeal. Just about anyone could see and sense his frustration at the situation.

That is, anyone except for assistant manager Steve Bould, who was sitting next to Wenger but couldn’t care less about his boss’ wardrobe malfunction.
