Just by looking at all the highlights Blake Griffin provided in Monday’s win over the Pistons, somebody might get the impression that the Los Angeles Clippers’ forward played well. He didn’t, getting only 15 points and four rebounds in 28 minutes, but in Griffin’s case, quality, not quantity, mattered.

The most exciting moment came in the fourth quarter, when Griffin caught a long rebound, leading to an easy two-on-none. Matt Barnes, a veteran forward who knew nobody at The Palace at Auburn Hills had paid to see him score, flicked the ball off the glass to Griffin for the dunk that put a punctuation mark on the win.
