Braylon Edwards Says ‘Idiots Calling Shots’ Are to Blame for Jets’ Problems, Not Mark Sanchez

Most people in the known world consider themselves experts on the mess that is the New York Jets. The criticism has been far-reaching and heavy this year as the team has fallen to 5-7.

But Braylon Edwards seems to think he has the proper credentials for more potshots against the team, considering he played there for part of the 2009 season and all of 2010.

Edwards sent a tweet early Tuesday morning backing up Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez and attributing most of the team’s problems to other sources.

Edwards, who now plays with the Seahawks, hasn’t clarified who the “idiots” in particular may be, although a good guess would involve either coach Rex Ryan, owner Woody Johnson or general manager Mike Tannenbaum. (Edwards also hasn’t expanded on why Sanchez may be a “beast.”)

But Edwards’ opinion on the general mayhem that surrounds the Jets each season does add to the argument that Ryan and Co. have lost control of this version of the team. Edwards may not get his wish for Sanchez to continue to start over backups Tim Tebow and Greg McElroy, but he has added to the mounting stack of evidence against current Jets management.

Edwards has just one catch for eight yards this year.
