Eli ManningWe realize that sports can make many people upset, but one Florida man clearly took his fandom too far.

Early Tuesday morning, Richard Braccia was still taking in the aftermath of his New York Giants’ 17-15 loss to Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins. According to The Star-Banner, Braccia had been drinking for four hours and is also addicted to pills, a combination that nearly turned out to be a deadly one.

Braccia says he doesn’t remember much about the incident, but, as a 30-year fan, does remember watching the Giants lose. Braccia reportedly struck his wife, who then called 911 while he was loading guns in their bedroom. Upon the arrival of the police, Braccia shot at three of them.

The incident caused the evacuation of more than a dozen homes in Ocala, Fl. Braccia eventually surrendered.

“I’m really sorry. I was not myself. It’s no excuse for my behavior,” Braccia told The Star-Banner. “I didn’t mean to shoot at them … I’m not in a good spot right now.”
