Not quite sure if this is what Miley Cyrus had in mind when she encouraged everyone to “party in the USA.”
A major line brawl recently broke out between the Minnesota Wilderness and the Thunder Bay North Stars of the six-team Superior International Junior Hockey League. Included in the fracas were haymakers, scattered equipment, bad blood, and yes, Miley Cyrus.
Cyrus’ 2009 hit single “Party in the USA” blared over the rink’s loud speakers as the two teams traded blows, because, well, why not? It’s not like anyone was probably paying much attention to the music selection at that point in time anyways, so why not give the crowd a little taste of America?
Fresh beats aside, though, the rumble was a pretty entertaining one. It even ended with a big hook by one of the netminders as the madness started to calm down.
Hopefully, this fulfills everyone’s daily hockey needs. Now, back to the lockout. (Sad face.)
