J.J. Watt Shows Off Freakish Athletic Ability in College With 55-Inch Box Jump (Video)

Before J.J. Watt was the scourge of opposing quarterbacks, he was just any other college kid … with a 55-inch vertical leap.

The Texans’ defensive end showed up some of the jumping skills that would cause so much problem for NFL offenses in a video taken before he was picked in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. The eventual No. 11 pick showed off his outrageous ups by leaping onto a box standing a whopping 55 inches off the ground.

Watt later discussed the feat with an incredulous Bob Costas, but let’s be honest — seeing is believing. Check out the jump in the video below.
