A week ago, Jeremy Lin made his return to Madison Square Garden to play the Knicks after signing with the Houston Rockets over the offseason, and his reception was less than friendly.
Comedian and former Saturday Night Live star Tracy Morgan “relentlessly heckled” Lin, according to the New York Post. Morgan may want to work on his heckling skills though, because one of his insults was, “Hey, Jeremy! How about the Knicks? Best record in the East!” That really seems more like an observation than a heckle.
Lin wasn’t the only Rockets player that drew Morgan’s ire. The 30 Rock star was also on James Harden. Morgan yelled at the new Rocket, “I used to have a mohawk my uncle gave me, just like James Harden … But mine was crooked.”
The heckling didn’t seem to distract the Rockets much, as they toppled New York 109-96. Lin had 22 points and eight assists while shooting 9 for 15. Harden had 28 points and 10 rebounds.
