Jim Harbaugh Forced to Relive Guest Starring Role on ‘Saved by the Bell: The New Class’ (Video)

Jim Harbaugh was recently featured on a Visa commercial, a spot that you may have seen once or twice while watching NFL games on Sunday (or Thursday or Monday).

The fiery coach steals the show, with a couple of real well-delivered lines that make it seem like the 49ers coach has been acting for years. In reality, actually, Harbaugh is no stranger to the acting game.

Thanks to the wonders of YouTube, an old video resurfaced this week featuring the former Colts quarterback making an appearance on Saved by the Bell: The New Class.  This space will not be used to criticize The New Class (a far cry from the original SBTB, no doubt), but rather it will applaud Harbaugh’s undeniable acting skills.

If there’s one thing that Harbaugh knows as well as football (and acting), it’s handshaking. His postgame handshake with Jim Schwartz following a game with the Lions last year is now infamous. In the classic Saved by the Bell episode, Harbaugh also showed off that vice grip, which he was asked about this week during a news conference.

“Just shows you, that’s how you do it,” Harbaugh said Wednesday, according to CBSSports.com. “There’s the evidence that it’s just a normal handshake.”

The clip made its rounds through the blogosphere this past week, and it’s finally gotten back to Harbaugh.

“Lot of people have been mentioning that lately. I don’t know why that’s become so popular,” Harbaugh said. “My wife told me about it, a few of the players did. They’ve been making quite a bit of sport out of me over that.”
