The Red Sox had a lot of issues during their 2012 campaign, but pitching was definitely one of the most significant. The team has since made several moves to turn its starting pitching woes into success, the biggest being the hire of former pitching coach John Farrell as manager.
Farrell, who has a history of working with members of the current staff, presents an opportunity to turn the current Sox starting rotation into one of the best in the American League. The staff certainly has the talent, although it lacks an ace after an up-and-down season by lefty Jon Lester.
Farrell sat down with Jerry Remy to discuss the current state of the Red Sox, what needs to be done this offseason and what Lester needs to work on to return to his dominant ways.
