When someone can make a joke about a painful past, it’s generally considered a step forward. We’re not sure if that’s the case with Kobe Bryant here, but we hope he’s found some measure of healing.
Bryant poked fun at his contentious relationship with former Lakers teammate Shaquille O’Neal on Friday night after former Laker Jamaal Wilkes had his jersey retired. When asked who he would want to do the honors when his own jersey is retired, Bryant decided to crack a smile and say it would be Shaq.
Burying the hatchet? Maybe. (That could mean burying it in the ground, or in someone’s back, you know.) Anyway, it’s good to see Kobe having a chuckle rather than a different response when it comes to Shaq’s name.
