The team fell to 4-9 under D’Antoni with Thursday’s loss to the New York Knicks, and the only good news for the Lakers was that Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard did not snip at each other on the court in this loss.
For most of the viewing public, watching the Lakers’ downfall has been a joy. Add D’Antoni’s penchant for making some very wacky faces to the mix, and the 2012-13 Lakers could be the most entertaining L.A. team in years.
Whether he is waving his arms willy-nilly in desperation or biting his bottom lip in angst, D’Antoni is much more fun to watch when his team is struggling. Not even Bryant’s “death stare” can match the unintentional humor of some of these expressions.
