Mark Sanchez’s Five-Turnover Night Takes Its Place Among Top 10 Worst Quarterback Performances This Season (Photos)

No, the reality of the position is that it is incredibly difficult, and that is a fact that many quarterbacks around the league will be more than happy to demonstrate on occasion.

On Monday night, Mark Sanchez was the latest and greatest QB to make a mess of the position, turning the ball over five times — including three times in the fourth quarter — while watching the Jets’ playoff hopes slip away.

Despite how poorly he played, however, Sanchez’s performance against the Titans isn’t the worst that a signal-caller has had this year, from a passer rating standpoint. In fact, it’s not even Sanchez’s worst game in 2012.

Yes, Sanchez had a bad game, and yes, even Tim Tebow had a better passer rating than his starting quarterback on Monday night. Still, when taking a look at some of the worst passer ratings that starters have put forth this year, Sanchez has plenty of company when it comes to playing badly.
