Stephen DrewStephen Drew is officially a member of the Boston Red Sox, as the team announced on Wednesday that the shortstop has signed a one-year deal.

Drew, 29, is the younger brother of outfielder J.D. Drew, who played with the Red Sox for five seasons from 2007 to 2011. Interestingly enough, the younger Drew will wear the same jersey number as his brother, No. 7.

Stephen Drew was a 2004 first-round draft pick by the Diamondbacks, with whom he played until a midseason trade last year to the Oakland A’s.

He finished the season batting .223 with seven home runs and 28 RBIs in 79 games while missing much of the season recovering from an ankle injury.
